Islamabad: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) on Monday halted its eviction operation of illegal occupants from Sector G-14, a news source reported. As per details, the authority was set to conduct the operation to clear the area of the local land mafia, which had illegally occupied the land allotted to government employees over 16 years ago.

FGEHA had allotted land in Sector G-14 to more than 2,000 employees, who had also paid all their dues to get plot possessions. However, the allottees never received possessions as the illegal occupants carried out construction activities and demanded compensation.

According to reports, people in Sector G-14 have received all compensation liable but have not vacated the land. Following the halting of the FGEHA operation, the allottees have written a letter to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan. They have also requested Planning Minister Asad Umar and Special Assistant to the PM on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Nawaz Awan to play their role in resolution of the matter.
