Islamabad: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority’s (FGEHA) Departmental Accounts Committee (DAC) announced on Monday (August 23) that the authority has decided to discontinue the quota system in the allocation of plots to specific categories, news sources reported.

The news was shared by FGEHA representatives in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which was looking into FGEHA’s audit report for the fiscal year 2018-19, as well as a report on its new sectors F-14, F-15, and G-13 towers. Journalists, physicians, attorneys, and other professionals are among those whose quotas have been eliminated. The members of PAC agreed with the proposal to cease plot distribution under a quota system.

The PAC chairman asked that the housing secretary come up with a transparent criterion under which federal government employees are allowed only one plot each.
