Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has donated an amount worth PKR 13.2 million to the dam fund set up on orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan to help generate revenue for construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams, reported a news source. The amount was handed over by the FESCO Chief Executive Mujahid Islam Billah.
For the dam fund, the FESCO officers from the entire region surrendered their two-days salary while the employees donated their one-day salary. The announcement for the donation was made by Billah in a simple ceremony, where he handed over the pay order to Muslim Commercial Bank Regional Head Muhammad Shafique.
Addressing the ceremony, Billah said that construction of water reservoirs and dams are inevitable for Pakistan, and also added that availability of ample water promises economic stability for the country.
