Lahore: Punjab Minister for Housing & Urban Development Mr Asad Khokhar announced on Saturday (August 28) that the project to connect Ferozepur Road with the Motorway at Sabzazar will begin soon, news sources reported. LDA has previously gave approval for the construction of 15-kilometre-long signal-free corridor between the Kharak Stop (Multan Road) and the Lahore Burj (Ferozepur Road). After taking the oath of office, the minister paid a visit to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) office.

LDA Director-General (DG) Ahmed Aziz Tarar briefed him on different LDA development initiatives in and around the city. The minister stated that the LDA City New Pakistan Apartments is a vital project that must be completed as soon as possible. Furthermore, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Syed Zahid Aziz stated that WASA is experiencing difficulties in completing projects in areas outside of its authority.

The minister instructed the relevant authorities to produce a report in order to bring such territories under the jurisdiction of WASA. On this occasion, the minister also planted a tree in the LDA office.
