Islamabad: The federal cabinet has provided its approval to a further two-week extension in the ongoing coronavirus lockdown across the country, a news source reported. According to details, the government has stretched the date from April 14 to April 30.

The final decision on the coronavirus lockdown extension will come through after the National Coordination Committee (NCC)’s announcement on the matter. According to Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan, PM Imran Khan would address the nation today at 5:15pm.
In his address, PM Khan is expected to make important announcements – his focus being on tackling poverty and hunger in the country in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the other hand, the federal cabinet has stated that provincial governments would have the authority to decide on the time frame of the lockdown extension, given the respective situation in each province due to the pandemic.
