Mansehra: The federal government has announced a fund of PKR 7 billion for the construction of the Kiar Bridge on river Kunhar in the Darband area of Mansehra, news sources reported on May 23.

The bridge will be constructed on the Kunhar river to connect the valley with the main areas. According to reports, the announcement of the budget allocation was made during a gas distribution line inauguration event by MNA Mohammad Sajjad Awan. He said that the bridge’s opening would boost tourism in the area, creating jobs for residents.

MNA Sajjad said that Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif will visit the Mansehra district soon to announce multi-billion rupee projects. He also emphasised the importance of natural gas connections for the locals, stating that with the Sui-gas connections, the residents will no longer have to rely on firewood, reducing deforestation.

He said that the government has also planned to inaugurate electricity connections for all the villages in the Tanawal and Darband areas.
