Bahawalpur: The South Punjab administration disclosed that a feasibility study for safari train service from the Bahawalpur railway station to the Lal Sohanra railway station was underway for tourists and visitors to the National Park Lal Sohanra, according to news published on Wednesday (December 8).

South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Saqib Zafar mentioned that the proposed railway route and track up to the abandoned Baghdaul Jadid railway station, near the city on Sammsatta-Bahawalnagar railway station was inspected in collaboration with Pakistan Railways Secretary Habib Gilani.
Sharing details about the safari train service, it was disclosed that the train service will be launched on a weekly or bi-weekly basis in a bid to boost tourism and attract tourists. He went on to say that tourists will be provided additional facilities like coaches will be available to travel by road up to the Lal Sohanra Park.

Moreover, Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathiya was ordered to explore all possible solutions for lease out via open advertisement. He was also directed to auction the project to transform the Baghdadul Jadid railway station’s building into a fast food centre.
