Lahore: The process for compiling feasibility studies for the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) will be initiated soon, according to a news source. The Punjab Government has started the process for these studies in various districts across the province.
The authorities concerned will conduct these studies in Chishtian, Lodhran, and Renala for the first phase of NPHP. The Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) will hire experienced consultants for this purpose. These experts will draft an engineering design to prepare the construction plan for NPHP, with their services expected to cost around PKR 9 million.
Furthermore, the authorities recently released official documents regarding these measures, which detailed the locations where the feasibility studies would be carried out.
In Chishtian, the consultants will conduct these studies at Chak 41 Fateh Tehsil, District Bahawalnagar. In Lodhran, the chosen location is Chak 99/M, Bahawalpur Road, near the Judicial Colony District Complex. As for Renala Khurd, the location is along Renala Khurd City on Shergarh Road.
The documents also revealed that PHATA has acquired 50 acres of land in Chishtian, along with developing the necessary infrastructure there. Land sized 50 acres and 13 kanals has been acquired for Lodhran and 52 acres have been acquired for Renala Khurd, with development work completed.
The agency has assigned 11 tasks to the consultants, with a deadline of two months. These include an environmental impact analysis (EIA) and recommendations for mitigation measures to protect the environment.
