Lahore: The Metropolitan Corporation has prepared a feasibility report regarding the renovation of Turner Road, a news source reported. Justice Akbar Ali Qureshi of the Lahore High Court (LHC) had passed the orders in this regard.
A camp has been set up to demolish encroachments, shades and other illegal structures on the road. The project to restore Turner Road would be completed at an estimated cost of PKR 1.1 million.
The court had earlier directed the city administration to clear the historic Mall Road of illegal parking stands and encroachments as well as remove signboards and flexes installed in the area.
Justice Qureshi remarked that all illegal parking stands and other illegal establishments be removed. He added that violators will be booked under the Anti-Terrorism Act, saying the court would not tolerate any kind of intervention in this regard.
