Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has issued a warning against unapproved housing schemes in the city and has asked people to beware of the fraudulent developers, according to news published in the leading newspaper on July 15.

After receiving several complaints to this effect, FDA Additional Director General Rizwan Nazir has instructed the public to inquire about the housing scheme before investing to avoid any monetary losses. He notified the citizens about the unlawful activities of the illegal housing schemes. Further, he revealed that the list of FDA-approved housing schemes has been uploaded on the authority’s website. The director general stated that the FDA office can also be contacted to get information about the housing scheme’s ownership of land, layout plan, and approval matter.

Moreover, the director general mentioned that some developers indulge in the selling of plots without FDA’s approval and committed fraud by attracting people for investment. He went on to say that these schemes showed maps of housing schemes that were not available on the site. Some developers submitted applications and layouts of a housing scheme for approval that was different from the actual site. This led to citizens having trouble finding the location of their plots. He remarked that people should be vigilant when investing in a housing scheme.
