Faisalabad: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General (DG) Dr Faisal Azim on Thursday (July 27) launched the master plan of Faisalabad, the third-largest city and industrial hub of the country, news sources reported.

The plan was unveiled during the director general’s meeting with the contingent of traders and the All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTPMA). Furthermore, Dr Faisal stated that the plan is being created with the needs of the country’s expanding industrial and commercial hub in mind. In addition, he stated that the FDA has planned several bridges, road networks, hospitals, educational institutions, community centres, and parks in response to the city’s growing population.
He also stated that 2,000 houses would be built on government land available in FDA City as part of the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) and that a plan is in the pipeline to this effect.

The APTMA members stated that the city is being developed under the efforts of the FDA, and the APTMA has also contributed to the initiatives in addition to creating job opportunities for thousands of people. The meeting was attended by the members of the traders association and the various rank members of the APTMA and FDA officials.
