Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has sealed the site offices of five illegal housing schemes in the city, according to a news story published today (October 28). The action was taken on the direct orders of FDA Director General Muhammad Sohail Khawaja.
Reportedly, the FDA had notified the developers of these housing societies to meet the legal requirements for getting no-objection certificates from the authority. The crackdown was launched only after the deadline notified in the notice had expired.

As per the details available, FDA Estate Officer Imtiaz Ali Goraya led the enforcement team that launched the crackdown against the unapproved housing schemes. Reportedly, four of the societies are located in Chak No. 196, while one is situated on Sheikhupura Road. The FDA officials have directed the project developers to formally apply for an NOC if they wished to continue with development work at the project site and initiate the process of selling plots.
