Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) on Thursday sealed the premises of four illegally-developed housing schemes in various parts of the city, according to news sources. As per the publication, the authority directed the developers to hold off on selling any more plots until the approval status of the housing societies in question could be established.
Under the Local Government Ordinance 2001 and Development of Citizens Act 1976, all housing projects need FDA’s approval, but some developers ignored this rule, prompting action from the government authority.

As per the official details, the said housing projects were located at Chak No 61 JB, Chak No 100 JB, Chak No 9 JB and Chak No 217 JB. Director General FDA Suhail Khwaja briefed the media regarding this operation and revealed that the FDA teams had also ndemolished the illegal constructions in these societies.

He added that FDA would be filing cases against the owners of the residential projects that had failed to acquire official approval before construction was initiated on their project sites.
