Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) proceeded to seal and demolish nine illegal housing societies on Satiana Road — a news source reported. As per the publication, FDA officials also apprehended the individuals involved in the sale of plots in these housing societies — who were subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation.

Through this crackdown, the agency expects to generate around PKR 300 million in fees and penalties from these illegal housing societies.
According to reports, the operation was conducted on the directions of Director General FDA Muhammad Suhail Khawaja and was led by Director Town Planning II. Other notable officials who were part of the operation included Deputy Director Raheel Zafar, Assistant Director Ahmad Ibrahim, Building Inspector Muhammad Yawar, Estate Officer Imtiaz Ali Goraya, and members of the police department, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, DG FDA stated that the government was formulating new strategies against illegal housing societies, and that additional operation would be conducted in the future as well.
