Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has requested the Punjab government to release funds for facilitating the civic agency in its completion of the city’s master plan draft – a news source reported.
The development authority had commenced with the blue print drafting in 2015. A private consultancy firm was hired for this purpose. The said body had conducted surveys and prepared reports with regard to the master plan development.

However, work had been stopped shortly afterwards owing to a lack of funds and the project had remained halted since then. This means that no new organised planning has been done for the city.

Speaking on the matter, FDA Additional Director General Aamir Aziz said that revisions would be made to the master plan. For this purpose, the FDA is coordinating with the consultancy firm concerned. Soon, all the stakeholders will be invited to submit their recommendations.
