Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) on Wednesday launched an operation against illegal housing schemes situated in the city, a news source reported. As per details, the civic agency, following the orders of its Director General and Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali, dismantled the infrastructure of these unauthorized projects.

During this operation, the FDA staff razed the infrastructure of an illegal housing scheme located on Jaranwala Road. The society management was found selling plots and carrying out development work without the authority’s approval. Further, it directed the project’s developer to follow the standard building bylaws, protocols as well as seek FDA’s authorization on this front.

DG Ali said that the operation was being carried out without any discrimination. He also advised the general public against making purchases in illegal and/or unapproved housing schemes. He asked potential buyers to seek details on project approval from developers, or verify their status from the FDA. For this purpose, the FDA is also preparing a list of illegal housing schemes, which will be made available soon.

The FDA DG also revealed that the development authority recently set up a dedicated one-window facility to pace up operations for the issuance of approvals to private housings schemes.
