Faisalabad: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General (DG) Dr Muhammad Zahid Ikram disclosed that no housing scheme will be established in the prohibited zone and stated concrete departmental strategy was followed for the implementation of land use rules, according to news published on January 13.

The director general visited the prohibited zone on Narwala Road for inspection. He visited Chak 61-JB and Chak 58-JB as well to check the zone plan. During the visit, he directed FDA to demolish structures of illegal housing schemes constructed within prohibited areas and take legal action against the owners of housing schemes.

Moreover, DG Ikram emphasised that regular monitoring to check the implementation of land use rules is required. He went on to say that any irresponsibility or negligence will not be tolerated. The director general instructed the developers to acquire complete information about the zoning plan before planning a housing scheme. Warning the people about the illegal housing schemes, he highlighted that the status of the housing scheme should be checked prior to investment.
