Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has suggested the government to develop a ring road, a technology park, an international cricket stadium in addition to the 15,000 houses under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP), according to a news report published on March 9.

These suggestions were presented by FDA Director General Sohail Khawaja during a briefing to Commissioner Saqab Manan and other officials on Monday. He revealed that owing to some structural reforms, the FDA’s revenue recovery rate has improved and has exceeded PKR 1 billion.
The meeting was also appraised that the development work on the FDA City project has paced up and outstanding dues from defaulters of the housing scheme are being recovered. It was also reported that an accumulated amount of PKR 380 million has been provided to the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) for the power provided to FDA City.

Moreover, Manan said that funds have been raised by selling the cancelled and non-allocated plots through the public auction. He also pointed out the systematic tree planting has been ensured in the scheme and the condition of rods, parks, water supply and sewerage has been improved.
It was informed that the authority has been conducting a crackdown against illegal housing projects by sealing their offices and demolishing the unauthorized structures.
