Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Board of Governors (BoG) on Wednesday (March 16) approved the regulations for the formulation of the Faisalabad Master Plan, news sources reported. The proposed regulations would govern the land use, enforcement of the master plan and the way of amendment, and other necessary regulations.

Reportedly, the meeting was presided over by FDA Chairman Latif Nazar, who was joined by other members of the board. The discussion reviewed the implementation of the Faisalabad Master Plan and how it will affect the city’s current infrastructure. Furthermore, other sections of the masterplan were also examined at the meeting. The BoG unanimously adopted the master plan’s enforcement regulations.
On the occasion, the chairman stated that the authority is implementing the federal government’s directives to develop metropolitan master planning policies that would prepare cities for future developments. It is worth noting that the government has directed the creation of a master plan for 80 cities across the country in order to avoid the illegal conversion of green land into brown land.

According to the administration, the move would increase food security by managing agricultural land and will make cities more habitable in the future.
