Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority’s (FDA) governing body on Wednesday (December 28) approved the first draft of the Faisalabad Master Plan (2022-42), news sources reported.

The plan was approved in a meeting presided over by FDA Chairman Mian Waris Aziz, where the details of the proposals and the master plan draft were discussed in detail. The FDA director general said that it would be a historic document for the advanced and organised future planning of the city. He also added that the FDA has finalised the draft of the master plan for the city after a series of meetings with legislators and stakeholders, and it had been approved unanimously. It took five years for the draft to be finalized, with the help of consulting firms.

It is important to note that the Punjab government has recently approved the Lahore Master Plan 2050, which is aimed at making the major cities of the province modern and environmentally friendly for future generations.
