Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has directed the developers of private housing schemes to display their complete project details at their respective project sites, a news source reported.
Last week, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had issued a set of instructions to the development authorities in Punjab – making it mandatory for builders to exhibit this information at their site offices and/or on their society main entrances.

The decision comes in the wake of increasing cases of fraud reported in various housing schemes in the province. Following the directives, the FDA has instructed the developers and administration of housing schemes to mention complete details on the amenity plots marked in the housing and display this information in their respective society offices.

According to reports, the authorities concerned have identified around 450 illegal housing schemes in Faisalabad – and the developers of these projects are allegedly involved in fraudulent activities. In addition, incidents of selling plots marked for schools, masjid, parks, and graveyards have also been reported.

In a meeting held to discuss a mechanism to raise public awareness on this front, FDA Director General Amir Aziz instructed his staff to ensure that all housing schemes displayed complete project details; including site plan, plot categories and the plots marked for public facilities at their main entrances.
Furthermore, the developers are also required to mark the amenities plots by installing boards containing details of the specific purpose the plot is meant for. The FDA DG directed his staff to ensure the completion of this process within one week.
