Faisalabad: The governing body of the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) on Thursday approved a three-year business model for the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) – developed under the directions of the Resource Mobilisation Committee, according to news sources.

Now, the WASA model will be tabled before the Standing Cabinet Committee on Finance and Development for final approval.
The managing director (MD) of WASA briefed the meeting attendees on salient features of the new WASA business model. He revealed that the department is making every effort to provide the best possible services for the citizens, despite the financial constraints. He also revealed that WASA is updating its revenue system and taking measures to improve the revenue recovery rate to boost departmental mechanisms.

The meeting also approved the tariff revision after much deliberation. Furthermore, the meeting participants stressed the need for detection of illegal water supply and sewerage connections and demanded an evolved and transparent system.
