Faisalabad: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) will send a delegation to Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) after Eid to explore avenues of investment there, a news source reported. FCCI President Shabbir Hussain Chawla stated this while talking to a delegation of Gilgit-Baltistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GBCCI). The GBCCI delegation was led by President Nasir Hussain Raki.
Chawla said that Gilgit-Baltistan lies near Afghanistan, China, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir and links all these to Pakistan, helping improve bilateral trade. He stressed that this importance increases when seen in the context of growing trade with China under CPEC and the construction of the Diamer-Bhasha Dam.
He suggested that GBCCI should create a special committee on investment which could provide credible information and guidance for investment.
The GBCCI President, speaking on the occasion, said that there were a lot of investment opportunities in GB and a lot of countries were interested in investment there, but Pakistanis will have to take the lead. He also announced that GBCCI was planning to organise an investment conference and his trip was for the purpose of extending invitations.
