Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) has announced launching its own ration programme to support and provide relief to the unemployed daily wagers suffering due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, a news source reported.

Speaking at an informal meeting of the FCCI executive committee members, FCCI President Rana Sikandar Azam said that the city’s business community will continue its tradition of helping calamity-hit people – during the coronavirus pandemic as well. He highlighted the prevailing lockdown as ‘imperative’, while at the same time pointed out that people were also suffering as a result.

Azam appreciated the announcement by businessmen and industrialists of continuing with paying full salaries to their employees – even with the businesses closed. He said that the COVID-19 crisis is a test for the philanthropists and they should meet the challenge head-on.
