Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday (March 31) decided to upload the profiles of 3.5 million non-filers provided by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to a new portal without any changes, according to news reports.

As per the details, there were errors in the initial testing of the data, which have been removed. The NADRA has identified 3.5 million non-filers using three different methodologies through Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Reportedly, the FBR will receive the non-filers profiles to be uploaded on the portal. The board will not make any amendments to the profiles developed by NADRA. It was disclosed that the FBR will give time till June 2022 to the non-filers to respond to the profiles. The FBR plans to launch a massive media campaign to create awareness.

Moreover, the non-filers will be able to file returns free of cost and lawyers will be awarded PKR 5,000 by FBR for filing every income tax return. If the non-filers fail to do so, their mobile phones will be disabled and electricity and gas connections will also be disconnected.
