Islamabad: Advisor to the Prime Minister (PM) on Finance Hafeez Shaikh on Wednesday instructed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to adopt ‘aggressive measures’ in its attempts to broaden the national tax net, a news source reported. He further directed the taxation agency to introduce 20,000 Point of Sale (POS) systems in the country for ensuring timely tax repayments.
He expressed his views on the matter during a visit to the FBR house in Islamabad. He asked the authority to redouble its efforts for revenue collection; adding that ‘each dollar not earned by the revenue authority would have to be borrowed from somewhere else, affecting the future choices of the country’.
