Gujranwala: The Federal Board Revenue (FBR) has announced its decision to take action against high net worth non-taxpayers, a news source reported. As per officials, the taxation authority recently notified some 1,450 wealthy non-filers of its plans. Previously, it had prepared of a list of the citizens who had purchased expensive properties, cars and other luxury items during the last tax year.
According to reports, the FBR has dispatched the details of tax evaders to its regional tax offices situated in Gujranwala and Sialkot. The list contains information on the properties, cars, mobile phones, and SIMSs bought against particular National Identity Card numbers and their bank accounts.
The federal institution, in its notices sent to these individuals, has sought information regarding the source of income, the taxes paid on these products and details of their annual tax returns and wealth statements.
