Lahore: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced its decision to investigate 1,796 alleged benami properties in Lahore – a news source reported. To facilitate this measure, the taxation authority has reached out to the district administration for the complete details on these constructions.

According to details, FBR has unearthed these properties through its review of the relevant documentation. These properties are located in all the nine zones of the city. Three hundred and twenty five of these properties are located in Data Gunj Baksh Zone, 479 in Samnabad Zone, 151 in Ravi Zone, 117 in Allama Iqbal Zone, 44 in Nishter Town Zone, 211 in Gulberg Zone, 17 in Shalimar Zone, 189 in Aziz Bhatti Zone, and 263 in Wagha Zone.

As per reports, the patwaris concerned have been asked to submit the details of these properties to the relevant sub-registrars of each zone.
