Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday (March 15) announced the results of its third lucky draw of the FBR Point of Sale (POS) receipt verification scheme, news sources reported. A total of 1,007 lucky winners were given a total prize money of PKR 53 million.

Reportedly, the FBR’s receipt verification scheme has received much attention. According to FBR data, about 260,833 invoices were confirmed by consumers who bought from outlets linked with the FBR POS System in February alone, compared to 153,000 in January 2022.

Moreover, Tier-1 Retailers connected with the SystemTier-1 retailers warned to integrate POS system to avoid penalties issued around 38 million invoices in February, compared to 37 million in January 2022. At the fortunate draw event, Chairman FBR/secretary Revenue Division Dr Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed stated that the government has effectively reregulated several Tier-1 vendors. In addition, the practice of digitally monitoring tax collection has significantly increased tax collection. He also noted that the government would continue monitoring and updating the Tier-1 seller list.
