Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set its revenue collection target at PKR 300 billion for July 2019, a news source reported. In the first 17 days of the month, it managed to collect PKR 170 billion in taxes. For meeting the said target, the federal institution will have to collect PKR 130 billion in the remaining 14 days.

The FBR recently notified all the senior staff members to strive for increased revenue collection. The office order stated that the officers should use the resources at their disposal to ensure tax collection in their assigned areas and territories.
The taxation authority has also instructed its staff to assist the taxpayers in all possible ways in a bid to expand the tax bracket through the inclusion of businessmen and industrialists.

Previously, the FBR had extended the amnesty scheme deadline from June 30 to July 3. As per reports, it had generated significant amount of revenues during the three-day extension period.
