Gujranwala: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) recently served notices to 2,000 tax defaulters in the city — with the initiative aimed at meeting the authority’s recovery targets, a news source reported. The said notices have been served to various people, including importers, exporters, industrialists, and politicians.

In addition, the FBR has served notices to local government departments that owe withholding taxes and other similar dues. Special teams have also been tasked with making recoveries worth PKR 9 billion.

Moreover, the FBR has further formed counters for the facilitation of individual taxpayers and departments that will become active by the end of the month. The FBR will also impose an emergency at its offices during the last 3 days of June in order to ensure that as many recoveries are made as possible before the end of the fiscal year.
