Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reported the success of the trial run of its newly launched mobile application for simplified tax return filing, “Tax Asaan”, a news source reported. The revenue board made an announcement last week that they would be launching an app to facilitate tax payers.
On Monday September 16, only a few days after the announcement, the app was launched, and has already been downloaded more than 25,000 times, receiving 98 salary returns. Its scope is currently restricted to individual salary income only.

Data from the app showed approximately 1700 draft returns, while 98 had already been submitted. Since the scope of this app is limited, the FBR is working on a new version that will include tax filing for all kinds of income, as well as the generation of a wealth statement. It is expected to be launched in the coming week.

The deadline for filing your taxes was recently shifted to September 30. Chairman FBR Shabbar Zaidi has requested citizens to use the app and pay their taxes to help the country.
