Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has declared that all of its tax offices around the country would stay open to collect taxes and duties, news sources reported on June 26. The offices will be open until 10 PM on Wednesday (June 29) and Thursday (June 30).

Reportedly, the FBR has issued a notification to all its regional offices to remain open late to facilitate taxpayers. As per the notification, all Large Taxpayers’ Offices (LTOs), Medium Taxpayers’ Offices (MTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) will remain open. In addition, to further facilitate tax collection, FBR has also requested all Inland Revenue Chief Commissioners to coordinate with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and authorised branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to ensure the transfer of tax collected by these branches to the respective SBP branches on the same date to account for the same towards the collection for the month of June 2022.

As previously stated, the measure is being taken to assist taxpayers at the end of the current fiscal year 2021-22. The new fiscal year will begin on July 1, 2022.
