Lahore: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued instructions to the Chief Commissioners of its offices around the country to establish help desks to receive applications for extension of deadline to file income tax returns, FBR shared through its official Facebook page.

According to details, under the new mechanism, such an application for extension of deadline will have to be submitted to the Chief Commissioner. Moreover, a single application could be made for several filers.
In order to avail the opportunity for extension in the deadline, the application should contain the name, Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) Number, National Tax Number (NTN) and the region. In addition to manual application, online applications will also be acceptable.

Moreover, the chief commissioners have been instructed to be generous in extending deadlines on the basis of such applications.
