Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced the release of new tax return forms for the tax year 2024, reported on July 8.

According to the details, the new forms cater to salaried individuals, associations of persons (AoPs), companies, and business individuals. These forms have been issued electronically through SRO949 of 2024, with amendments made to the existing income tax rules. In addition to the electronic forms, the FBR has also released manual income tax return forms for individuals, notified through SRO0950 of 2024. In related news, on July 4, the FBR dismissed 27 high-ranking officials following directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. This action included the removal of 16 grade-20 officers from the Inland Revenue Services and 11 grade-20 officers from the Customs group, based on intelligence reports.

Those dismissed include Dr. Akhtar Hussain, Customs Collector Islamabad; Muhammad Adnan Akram, Director Transit Trade Lahore; and other notable officials such as Irum Maqbool Aamir, Naveed Iqbal, Ahsan Khan, Raza Khan, Amreen Tarar, Aamir Rasheed, Zahoor Ahmed, Qazi Afzal, Naseer Janjua, Muhammad Abid, Humera Maryam, and Naved Akhtar.
