Islamabad: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has been tasked to help the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in bringing non-filers under the tax net, according to news published on November 24.

To facilitate this initiative, the government has formally established a high-level committee featuring top officials from both NADRA and FBR. This committee is tasked with the integration of data for the registration of potential individuals, with a primary focus on expanding the tax net.
The newly formed data integration committee is set to initiate the exchange of information to register non-filers. The collaboration between FBR and NADRA aims to enhance data-sharing efforts, enabling the determination of actual incomes for existing taxpayers, registration of new taxpayers, and the completion of tax profiles for non-filers.
The news source mentioned that FBR and NADRA have reinitiated a consultative process to bolster tax base expansion.
