Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has joined forces with Karandaaz Pakistan to initiate digitalisation efforts within the tax system, aligning with ongoing reforms in tax administration, according to a news source on March 16.

Following a meeting between Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and officials from the FBR and Karandaaz, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed, emphasising the need for business facilitation and people-centric approaches in crafting digital solutions.
Minister Aurangzeb stressed the importance of utilising top-tier human capital for effective assessment and design, proposing the involvement of experienced international consultants with expertise in implementing tax digitalisation solutions.

Under the agreement, Karandaaz Pakistan will assist the FBR in assessing business needs, existing IT infrastructure, and systems, aiming to establish the context and scope for digitalising the tax system with a focus on service-oriented and taxpayer-centric use cases.
