Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) recently introduced a software, titled ‘Centralised Sales Tax & FED Assessment & Processing (CSTAP)’, in its bid to effectively oversee the sales tax returns collection process – a news source reported. Developed by the IR-Operations wing of the FBR, the software will be used to locate gaps in taxes and find out the actual sales tax/FED liabilities of the taxpayers. It will also enable expediting the process of settling refund claims.

The first batch of 25 field formation officers will be given access to the software by 11 September for test runs.
