Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched a new exercise to broaden the tax base, a news source reported on January 4.

As per the details, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Revenue Tariq Pasha visited the Regional Tax Office (RTO) Islamabad and RTO Rawalpindi to start FBR’s documentation drive. During the visit, the SAPM assigned targets to the RTO Rawalpindi and Islamabad for broadening the tax base.

The news source mentioned that the Chief Commissioners of Islamabad and Rawalpindi briefed the PM’s aide on Revenue about the progress made related to the broadening of the tax base. It was mentioned that the Directorate General of Broadening of Tax Base and Directorate General of Digital Invoicing & Analysis has been made operational in order to expand the tax base.
