The board’s announcement further stated that the FBR had also simplified the tax returns form and that now the returns could be filed through an online portal. This new form allows tax payers — particularly the salaried and business-class individuals — to fill in and submit their returns forms themselves.

Speaking on the occasion, FBR’s representative Syed Nadeem Rizvi stated that all businessmen with a turnover of less than PKR 10 million would have only have to submit a single-page returns form from now on. He added that this move was expected to add another 200,000 tax payers to the tax net.
The deadline to file taxes has been set for September 30.
