The FBR chairman made these remarks while he was talking to the media after the launch of the Inland Revenue Strategic Reform Plan for 2021-25 in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), UK-Aid, and other donors. It was informed that the two initiatives — data integration with NADRA and arresting potential tax dodgers — for broadening the tax base are not implemented yet. The authority is reported to be unable to apprehend violators despite getting powers under the Finance Act 2021.
