Islamabad: To ensure tax collection, the Federal Board of Revenue has started to install a web-based restaurant invoice monitory system initially in 18 restaurants in the capital city, reported a news source. Launched as a pilot project, the FBR assigned this task to the regional tax office in Islamabad to determine threshold categories based on bills for electricity and gas connections.
Under this system, the computer system of these restaurants will be linked with FBR headquarters or Pakistan Revenue Automation Ltd (PRAL). This will help FBR collect data for sales invoice on real time. The Board is hopeful that tax collection from the restaurant sector will increase under the new system.
The restaurants where this web-based restaurant invoice system has been installed include Rooster Coffee House, M J’s Bakery & Café, 1969 Restaurant, Habibi, Hang Chen, Fredrigo’s Pizza & Pasta, Karanchee Biryani & Broast, BBQ Bazar, Ranchers, BLT Restaurant, Third Wave, Manolo Gelato, Cheema & Chatta Restaurant, Burning Brownie, OPTP, Café Aylanto, Jessie’s, and Table Talk.
