According to reports, the government decided to extend the deadline in response to citizens’ and tax bodies’ appeals to reform income tax return forms and simplify the income tax return portal language for small enterprises.
The Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) urged the FBR in a letter a few days ago to examine its tax return form and highlighted and identified various flaws and inadequacies in the IRIS system related to the income tax filing method.

It is worth noting that this is the second time this year that the FBR has extended the deadline for submitting income taxes, with the last deadline expiring on October 31. According to reports, the FBR chose to extend the deadline due to a low-income tax returns submission, which was recorded at 34%.
