Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), on Friday, formed a committee for the resolution of sale tax refund issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) – a news source reported on December 21. It is a six member committee comprising of various representatives of the stakeholders.

The members of the committee include Senator Nauman Wazir Khattak (convener); Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue (IR) Regional Tax Office (RTO)-Peshawar; Chief Commissioner IR (RTO, Abbottabad); Additional Commissioner (RTO, Peshawar); Khyber Match and AYS Electronics CEO Adeel Rauf; and Rakaposhi Pharmaceuticals Director Saad Zahid.

The committee has been tasked review of the nature of complaints and issues as well as their possible solutions. The committee will also take immediate steps for the resolution of these issues. Other matters on the the committee’s agenda include following up with concerned field formation till the issue is resolved; maintenance of complete record of complaints/issues to FBR; the mechanism adopted for resolution and post resolution action required, if any; and sharing of data with the board on monthly basis including issues received, resolved and pending resolution.
