Citizens are advised to file their taxes through the FBR’s Tax Asaan mobile app or the official website. Taxes may be paid over the internet and banking mobile apps. To address inquiries and questions, the authority has established special helplines. The post further warned that failure to file income tax returns would result in a PKR 1,000 fine each day or legal action.

It is worth noting that the government has set a tax target of PKR 7 trillion for FY-23. This is PKR 1 trillion more than the FY-22’s tax goal of PKR 6.1 trillion. However, official FBR data show that it exceeded the tax collection aim by PKR 25 billion and collected PKR 6.125 trillion last year.
