Lahore: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) disclosed that up till October 12, the board has received 2.213 million returns with an additional tax collection of PKR 41.895 billion, according to news published on Wednesday (October 13).

As per the details, the total number of income tax returns filers with the online system was 2.190815 million and the total deposit was PKR 41.397 billion. By October 12, the number of filers rose to 2.213 million with deposits of PKR 41.895 billion.
It is pertinent to mention that the last date to file income tax returns for both new and old taxpayers was September 30; however, an extension was offered for taxpayers because of the technical delays on the last date. It was mentioned that for the first time ever more than 1.8 million returns were filed within 90 days (till September 30). From October 1 to 3, FBR revealed that 600,000 returns were filed from across the country.

In another development, FBR announced that the Export Facilitation Scheme 2021 has been extended to all indirect and direct vendors and exporters to freely move goods from one user to another. Under this scheme, the export-oriented sector will be facilitated by acquiring duty and tax-free local and imported inputs in a bid to make Pakistani goods competitive.
