The previously communicated deadline for big retailers to install the said system was March 30, which has now been extended to April 30. The initial deadline given to the tier-1 retailers was December 15, 2019.
After the spread of CODI-19 pandemic, the government implemented a partial lockdown under which all major shopping malls were closed for operation. In most domestic markets, the only shops still operating are grocery, fruit/vegetable, and pharmacies.

The official notification issued by the authority stated that the tier-1 retailers will send a written willingness to integrate their POS to their regional tax officers (RTOs) and Large Taxpayer Units (LTUs) until April 20 to avail this extension.
Furthermore, the FBR has also delayed its decision to extend the scope of POS to pharmacies and hospitals across the country.
