According to an announcement issued by the apex tax agency, the offices will be open until 9 pm on September 29 (today), and till midnight on September 30.
The decision was made to help tax filers and to address difficulties with the online tax filing portal. Despite the persistent demands for an extension from traders and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), the FBR has not yet extended the deadline for filing tax returns.

Furthermore, the members of FPCCI and traders have also urged FBR to not levy late payment surcharges that are 0.1% of the total payable amount. The traders opined that such steps would burden businesses in the long run.
