Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reorganised its Directorate of Internal Audit, Islamabad, into two branches: Directorate of Internal Audit-North (Customs), Islamabad, and the Directorate of Internal Audit-South (Customs), Karachi – a news source reported.

According to FBR SRO No 1494(I)/2019, the name of the office Directorate of Internal Audit, Islamabad, will be read as Directorate of Internal Audit-North (Customs), Islamabad, from December 2 for the purpose of posting of all officers/officials from BS 1-20. Similarly, officials posted in the Directorate of Internal Audit, Islamabad (stationed at Lahore) will report to the Directorate of Internal Audit-North (Customs), Islamabad (stationed at Lahore).

A new office has also been established in Karachi. Titled The Directorate of Internal Audit-South (Customs), Karachi, it was notified on December 2. The officials previously posted in the Directorate of Internal Audit, Islamabad (Stationed at Karachi) will now report to the Directorate of Internal Audit-South (Customs), Karachi.
