The currency declaration app ‘Pass Track’ has been modified to facilitate passengers and was launched at a recent ceremony held at the FBR House. This app can be used by passengers travelling to and from Pakistan to declare the cash amount they will be carrying remotely. It was highlighted that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has revised the cash-carrying limits for outbound travellers and has mandated for foreign currency-carrying travellers file a declaration with the Customs department.

To this effect, Pakistan Customs tasked the National Information Technology Board (NITB) to develop a web-based mobile application that will enable travellers to file declarations electronically. The Pass Track mobile app is available on Web, App Store and Play Store and has instructions in both Urdu and English. The traveller will use his/her mobile number to log in and provide personal details once; the form will keep updating with each use. The app will record previous declarations and annual limits which can be monitored by the Customs department.
